Else is a young woman from the Viennese bourgeoisie on vacation at a luxurious hotel in Switzerland. A letter from her mother reveals the family’s dire financial and legal situation, prompting Else to seek help from a wealthy family friend, Mr. Von Dorsday. He agrees to cover the debt, but on one terrible condition.
Based on Schintzler’s masterpiece, this story explores choices, loneliness, and the ways men and women view one another. In a game of mirrors and double lives, Else reveals herself through the wit of her thoughts.

The theater company
Theatre Turnings is a young theater company founded in 2020 in New York (which became a legally registered association in Italy in 2024) by four young actors, all under the age of 30.
Theatre Turnings is an international company that uses dance, theater, and music to tell engaging and meaningful stories. The performances are multidisciplinary; by combining dance and acting, the company aims to present new or reimagined stories, creating theater that is for everyone and distinguished by artistic integrity and quality.
